What Should I Do If I am Hurt in a Car Accident and Don’t Have Insurance?

If you are hurt in a car accident and do not have health insurance you have a few options.

First, you need to know if your car insurance policy includes any medical coverage. Usually MedPay is worth about $1000-$5000 and may not cover all your medical expenses. Many car insurance policies do not include medical coverage so always check to see if yours does.

A second option is to take a medical lien from a doctor. The doctor will then treat you, but expect to be paid back out of any successful Missouri car accident legal settlement. You should know, though, that if you don’t get a settlement, or if it is less than your medical bills, you will be in debt to the doctor—and still need help to pay medical bills.

That’s why it’s important to find a good Missouri car accident attorney. They are trained to fight the insurance company to get you help to pay your medical bills.
