Paul D. Hetzel, of Kane, IL was killed after another driver blacked out and hit him head on. The other driver, Paul Matthews of Eldred, Illinois, suffered only minor injuries. Paul Matthews was headed south on Highway 67 when he blacked out, swerving into the northbound lane and hitting Paul Hetzel’s Ford Escort with his Chevrolet Silverado head-on. Matthew’s car hit the guardrail and went into the ditch while Hetzel’s vehicle was pushed into the guardrail. Both men were reported to have been wearing their seatbelts. Continue reading
