The combination of ice and the poor structure of Highway DD has claimed the life of retired beer distributor and Vietnam veteran Daniel Windler. After Windler’s car slid off the road on Sunday night, he called for a tow truck to help him remove his vehicle from the very dangerous Highway DD. As he was walking back to his car to meet the tow truck, he was struck by a 17 year old girl from St. Peters. She was trying to slow down and turned to avoid him but the right side of her car struck and killed Daniel. Continue reading
