Train hits Car in Trenton, Missouri; Three are Killed

Three people were killed when a train crashed into a car in Trenton, Missouri. The 3 people in the car, Nancy Groves, Adam Romesburg, and Nina Spencer, were all reported to not be wearing their seatbelts. The crash happened yesterday late morning after Nancy Groves drove through a railroad crossing that did not have a control arm. She drove onto the tracks and the conductor, Gerald Shrum, could not stop in time to avoid the car, ending in a crash that pushed the car 300 feet north. Though police were on the scene fairly quickly and freed the three people from the car, it was too late to save their lives. Continue reading

Woman Killed in Uplands Park Police Chase

34 year old Lashanna Snipes was killed in an accident involving a car fleeing from Uplands Park police on Thursday evening. The accident, occurring at Martin Luther King Drive and Goodfellow Boulevard, happened after the fleeing car ran a stop sign in its efforts to elude the police. A passenger in the car remains in critical condition while the one other adult and two children suffered non-threatening life injuries. The driver and passenger of the fleeing car fled on foot. Crash in Franklin County Leaves Elderly Man from Linn Dead

A crash involving an SUV on Highway 50 near Buth Lane resulted in the death of 79 year old Glendale Morton of Linn, Mo. Morton was driving westbound when he crossed the centerline of the highway and hit an SUV, driven by Kevin E. Lay, head-on. Lay suffered moderate injuries but Morton was pronounced dead at the scene. Young O’Fallon Man Killed In Collision with Tractor Trailer

A young man from O’Fallon was killed early Saturday morning after a head-on collision with a tractor trailer. The young man, identified as Kyle Lauders, had been going the wrong direction down 40 when he crashed into the tractor trailer, driven by Danny Lanier. The crash caused an explosion which burned the truck cab and part of the tractor trailer. Lauders was taken to St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur where he died just after 3:30 Saturday afternoon. The police suspect that Lauders may have been drinking. Continue reading
