On Saturday, July 17th, an accident in Barry County on MO-39 at Jenkins left one driver seriously injured. A five vehicle crash in Franklin County resulted in the death of one driver and the injury of another. The driver that died, 32 year old Maclovio Orozco of Pacific, had been passing a truck on eastbound Highway 100 when he clipped an oncoming car and hit a second and third car.The third car, driven by 66 year old John Berkemeyer of Hermann, was hit head on, resulting in moderate injuries. The collision with Berkemeyer’s car lead to the final collision between Orozco’s car and a truck. Though Berkemeyer was reported to have been wearing a seat belt, Orozco had not. Continue reading
Day Alexander, of Festus, was killed after he lost control of his ATV late last night. He was driving a Yamaha Raptor when he failed to stop at a stop sign at Timberline, sliding over Berry Road, hitting a log, and eventually overturning. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Sarah Barrett of Desoto, was airlifted to St. John’s in Creve Coeur with serious injuries. It has not been confirmed whether either had been wearing helmets. Continue reading
